I have joined forces with a group of extremely talented ladies to showcase projects based on a gold theme. It’s a lovely way for us to celebrate the upcoming “Pot of Gold” at the end of the rainbow.
I love Kate Spade. Her use of colour (and of GOLD) sing to my heart. And when I saw her line of stationery at our local Chapters store, I was in love!
The pencils! The notebooks! The coasters!
Wait – coasters? There isn’t much to these at all, actually. I can MAKE these!
But I decided to make them my own with a bit of golden-love. Things are so much better with a bit of glitz, no?
Using chipboard from Silhouette America, I designed two cut files to easily re-create these chic little coasters.
Using the gold Silhouette Sketch Pen, trace out this image using your Silhouette. (You can download the file HERE)
Do not unload your chipboard from the machine! Instead, swap out the sketch pen for a blade turned to a depth of 5 (and tell your machine that you’re cutting chipboard, and not using your sketch pen anymore), and then use THIS file to cut out your coasters.
After cutting out strips of adhesive gold foil, I placed them on the back of the coasters.
And trimmed them with scissors.
You have created these chic and golden coasters, perfect for a girls’ night in, or just for adding a bit of whimsy to your patio table.
Spring is coming, friends. And that means patio-time.
And maybe a martini or two?
Be sure to check out the incredible work of my friends this month. It’s life in gold, friends! And I LOVE it!
pssst…. at the bottom of this post is a pretty awesome giveaway. Don’t miss it!
