What stylish girls you have 🙂 That Dora shirt is pretty rockin. I have literally never seen an episode of Dora, and I’m sure that’s all going to change VERY soon for me! Have a happy weekend 🙂

Girl, you’ll catch yourself singing the theme song as you scrub the toilet. And you’ll think, ‘When did THIS happen!?!?”

One bonus is that Lucy can count to 10 in Spanish. Because our country’s second language is French, this makes me think that she is a genius and will probably be a Rhodes Scholar. Thanks, Dora! 🙂

WOW, you have some awesome pictures and I absolutely LOVE how you told the tale of back to school shopping!

Oh, thank you Marilyn. It was very different shooting pictures in a department store. You can’t grab a kid and a rack of clothes and head towards a window. There AREN’T any windows!

It was a fun day. The girls both had such a great time – I really enjoyed myself!

Point (A) We are kindred bad-haircut-and-horrible-fashion-sense spirits from “back in the day” (choppy bangs, flannel and all). Point (B) Lila seems like the cutest little sassy britches and I wanna hang out with her 😉 And Point (C) You rock and your kids rock. Oh and Sears, rocks, too. Great outfits 🙂

Yes, flannel and horrifying bangs forever! I want to burn all of my pictures from that time – I just look so….. grumpy?!?

Lila is a sassy miss. She’s really come into her own this year. Lucy’s always known her own mind (hence, one shirt and only one shirt!), but Lila is really starting to show us her personality. I love it!

And thank you so much for the compliments. You’re pretty fantastic yourself, lady! Grungy teenagers unite! 🙂

Thank you so much, Sky! She was thrilled with everything she saw. The girl is a future clothes-horse. I just know it!

It’s definitely one we may have to use. Lucy wore that shirt for nearly half of our camping trip! She’s enamoured with it!

I love that picture with the ukulele! You have such great little girls.

Now for admission: I was a child of the late 80s early 90s so I had neon and side parted waterfall bangs AND grungy flannel and baggy pants. I took the worst fashion and hair from both eras and made them my own. Sigh.

Well, your blog post also gives you away. I LOVED Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing.

I tried waterfall bangs (a la Kelly Kapowski) but my hair is too wispy. Instead, it was side ponytails and t-shirts that were knotted at the bottom. Grungy flannel = yes! It was like we were camping all of the time, but not.

      Oh, the 90s. What a mess I was! 😉

Ah yes, Mavis does hint at a certain age group, doesn’t she?

I loved the grunge movement for the ease of it. However, I feel like half our generation didn’t shower for 4 years.

What a sweet post. I almost cried when I read how politely Lucy asked for her shirt and her purse. What a fun day of shopping for all of you!

Oh, thank you so much, Amy! Lucy was so earnest in wanting her purse and shirt that I couldn’t say no to her. She wore her shirt three times while we camped this week. It was a worthwhile buy, for sure! 🙂
