We drink out of jars all the time. I really should pick up some of those lids- so cute and perfect for outside too! Good luck- I know you’ll be a fantastic host!

I drink out of mason jars too. A first it was because I couldn’t find a glass, and now it’s become regular glassware in our house!

Um, holy cuteness is right Tara! I love this- one of my BFFs gave me one like this for Xmas this year with some nailpolish and mini hand lotion inside of it – she is not normally craft so I was SUPER impressed… though I did convert the jar to a foam hand soap dispenser for my kitchen sink afterwards:) lol. Wish I could come to your party!!

Ooh pretty how did the girls go with glass. I’d be too scared to give them to my little ones but Elizabeth would adore them

The girls actually do okay with glass. I don’t let them cart drinks around if they’re not in plastic or stainless, but they’re both pretty aware of the “breakable” factor of glass.

You mentioned Michaels which is my favourite place in the world but not the lid product by name. My location has never seen these adorable lids, and I would love them been dying to do this project for a long time! What’s the product name, how much and possible other locals to buy? And if you did them yourself I want to know how! Thanks!

Heather – these lids are made by Ashland, and they’re called Mason Jar Lid Inserts. They come in packs of two. I found them in the mason jar/vase section of Michaels. They were hanging at the end of an aisle with a bunch of blinged-out screw bands (with rhinestones on them, etc).

I can’t remember the exact price (and I’m in Canada, so the prices are different from the American Michaels chain), but I remember thinking, “These are cheap!” when I snapped them up!

Let me know if you’re having trouble finding them at your Michaels – I know that a couple of other Hometalk bloggers have found them at their location!
