Personally, I would add a few family photos in some pretty (matching frames). A Master Bathroom is a personal space. Generally, the only people who use it and see it are you and your hubby (& your kids). It should be a personal space that brings you joy. It doesn’t need to look like a model home or magazine spread. Beautiful family photos will add a bit of color to the room.

Michelle – I LOVE that idea. Honestly, that hadn’t even crossed my mind – putting family pictures in the bathroom – but your ideas make perfect sense. It’s typically a very private room, and why not have cherished photos there while I’m getting ready!?!?

Thank you for the genius idea!

I think some natural wood would add some nice warmth. I’m not sure if you have space or if it’s too rustic for you, but a wooden ladder used as a towel rack might be a nice touch. Some good fake plants or flowers would work too.

I like that idea, Julia. I’ve been keeping my eye open for a rustic ladder, but I think that people out here know what they have (sigh) – and I don’t want to pay a mint for them. I do think that something warm – and perhaps wood – would make the space more cozy.

Do you know where there are good faux-plants to be had? I have a hard time finding ones that aren’t too…. not-real. 😉

We just renovated our bathroom in a white/grey theme and I totally love it, but there are some personality pieces I can’t wait to add…a bright pink orchid, a decorative mirror and a globe chandelier above the master bath. It would just add that extra bit of glam.

I love the idea of a big chandelier over the bathtub. I suggested this to Mr. Suburble and he looked at me like I had sprouted another head.

(He’s a bit slow on the renovation-love these days. I’ll get him to see the light! 🙂 )
