Umm… yeah. We’re going to be talking about Lionel Richie for a minute.
And it’s all because of those feather pictures up there on the wall.
You guys already know that I’ve been working with Graham & Brown for a while now, and I love so much of their stuff. I’ve slapped their wallpaper on my bedroom wall and hung their pictures, and just recently, I decided to do up my spare room.
I saw the feather art on their website and knew I had to have them.
But when they arrived….
Whoops. I didn’t want them for my spare room any more. I don’t spend much time in my guest room – it’s mostly for other people and where my treadmill lives.
I wanted to stare at these pictures out in the open.
Enter Lionel…..
Yep. Sorry, spare bedroom. It turns out that I was looking for those feather pictures this whole time. And now they have to live in the living room, where all of the other pretty things strut their stuff.
And it was the right decision.
I have gotten compliments on these pictures every time someone has walked through the door. I think it’s because they really tie the room together and make it feel just that much more “finished”.
Blank walls don’t have the homey feeling that art can bring.
Mr. Suburble proudly exclaimed, “You hung those pictures! See, I noticed!” as he tromped in the door.
Then, he proclaimed, “Well, this room is done now, isn’t it?”
I think I might have chuckled. Or maybe I raised my eyebrow.
Is a room ever really “done”?
I don’t think so.
Case in point: when I do things like put a star on top of the china cabinet to get it off the floor and suddenly….
“Lionel? Is that your voice I’m hearing?”
Not sure on this one yet, but man alive… I have GOT to stop bringing things into the living room. They never leave!
I love love love Graham & Brown and all of their fabulous art and wallpaper. They provide me with pretty things to pop up in my house, but Lionel Richie showed up on his own. 😉
