Then Lucy caught a cold. It wasn’t pretty.
She’s the type that likes you to know that she isn’t feeling well. I took this picture because she seemed so angelic and innocent as she napped on the couch. I probably felt this way because she was a demanding and incorrigible patient while she was awake. “I don’t wike dis cup! I kick it!”
You “kick it”? Okayyyy…..
Still, there was work to be done and projects to be tackled. I feel as though I always have Spring Cleaning and organization on the mind. In a meandering walk through a big box decor store, I found this 18″ – yes, it’s gigantic! – lazy susan.
When I was buying it, I remarked to the cashier, “This is huge! I’m so excited.”
I could see her wrinkle her nose, just a little bit, and then she said absentmindedly, “Yes… it is big…”
I felt as though I was reading her mind. “I’m not going to put this on my table. It’s for my pantry.”
Her demeanor changed at once, “Oh! Oh! That’s a great idea. I just didn’t know what you’d do with one so….. large.”
Well, Judgey McJudgerson… I put it in my pantry, and now it’s my little organizational workhorse! If you zoom back to pictures of my original Pantry Overhaul, you’ll see that this shelf was bit laissez-faire in its organization. Now, it’s just as easy to grab my bottle of olive oil, a can of chick peas, or my white wine vinegar! Love it!
Lucy also wants you to know that she’s feeling much better. “I’ne a panda, mommy! See, a panda!”
(‘scuse the ‘cookie beard’. We know how to be crazy on the weekends!)

Love those owls! We’ve got sick ones here too – boo! Drove by our new house to see the yard peeking at us from underneath the receding snow…we are SO excited to have a yard with stuff to do!!! Thanks for the fun reminder we have a YARD to keep! Happy weekend!

Oh, just you wait… sometimes you’ll be cursing that yard. But for the most part, we’ve very glad that we’ve got a little patch of earth for running and jumping and playing and planting. How exciting that you’ll soon be playing in your own yard! You’ll have to start pinning all sorts of backyard ideas!
Happy weekend to you too!

Thank you so much for making me laugh tonight. I love your perspective
on motherhood. How funny that your sweet angelic child sleeping on that
sofa threatened to kick her cup because she didn’t like it. Aw…how
cute :). I am really jealous of your smores and your owls…and that
little panda 🙂

Oh, the appearance of the little Panda bear definitely redeemed Miss Lucy of her cup-kicking ways. She was a little beast whilst she fought off her cold bug!
The owls are one of my most treasured thrift shop finds; I have a thing for owls. Well, owls that are aesthetically pleasing and not the stuff of nightmares. *shudder*
