An area rug ties a space together. It’s cozy on the feet and easy on the eyes. Over the years, I’ve learned about the importance of having a properly-sized rug. 

As in, this is not it:

We’ve since fixed this “floating coffee table” situation, but any eye can see that the coffee table was stranded out in an ocean of wood flooring. Now I am much more aware of the proper size of a rug in a room. 

In our family room, we’ve recently added a beautiful graphite and white Emory rug from Loloi.

It’s cozy and plush on the feet and brings the room together. 

And I love its size. When all of the feet of my furniture can touch the carpet, I feel as though the rug is properly scaled.
